24 Members Appointed to Transportation Equity Committee

New officials are acquainted with accessibility strategy and policy

The Department of Transportation appointed 24 new members to the Advisory Committee on Transportation Equity (ACTE). The committee is concerned with the accommodation of the elderly and those with special needs, as well as the use of railroads and highways to segregate minority neighborhoods and communities.

The academics and business officials who have been appointed to serve on the ACTE all have knowledge in these areas, and will inform the Transportation Department regarding policies and strategies to increase equity in the transportation sector at the federal level.

“We are grateful to the distinguished members of the ACTE, and I look forward to working with them as we continue our efforts to bring better infrastructure—and the jobs and opportunities that come with it—to every community across the country,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Secretary Buttigieg as he collaborates with the Advisory Committee on Transportation Equity.
  • For Transportation Department officials as they evaluate the inequities of the current transportation systems.
  • For the president and his administration as they promote policies and programs to advance equity.
